Deborah made her first doll, of a nature spirit, during her university degree in Design in Belfast. Three more quickly followed it - so enchanting her that, despite being a published illustrator, she gave up painting to focus on teaching herself how to create her Fey Dolls.

Each doll is a limited edition or a one-of-a-kind commission. Nature and mythology are the constant wellspring for her unique creations. All the dolls have wire armatures, padded bodies and clothes made from natural objects and hand-dyed, embroidered fabrics. The heads and hands are clay and 'stonecast'.

At present Deborah is working on a completely new and ever growing series of strange faery beings she calls 'Windfallen Faerys of Woodland and Wilds', and is also collaborating with a writer friend to illustrate and publish magical stories inspired by one of her recent dolls - Granny Light.
