Jill Bennett

Exquisite miniature porcelain dolls.

Jill Bennett is a founder member of the BDA. Trained as a theatre designer she moved to children's book illustration. Fired by her love of stories and characters she began to make dolls. This was, for her, illustration in three dimensions. She began in the miniature world of dolls' houses but also makes dolls up to 24cm high (9¹/2 inches) high. The history of dress and the creation of individual characters are her abiding interests.

All her ¹/12th dolls have porcelain heads and metal, posable bodies.

Her larger dolls have porcelain limbs as well as heads and no metal.

Prices start at £100 for ¹/12th, and £300 for larger sizes. These are one-of-a-kind.
